Through workshops, field days and planting events we strengthen the capacity of local communities to respond to threats and improve the health of their land.
Building local capacity
Landholders can play a major role in ensuring that gliders remain a part of our landscape.
Since 2012, we have been mobilising Landcare Groups and local landholders to take part in coordinated pest control activities, and to restore habitat in priority areas.
We continue to build on this work by partnering with local community groups and government to run workshops, field days and planting events to promote a greater understanding of habitat management, integrated with best farm practice.
These include:
- Pest management workshops
- Species identification workshops
- Weed management workshops
- Citizen science projects
- Information days
These activities help to increase the capacity of local landcare groups and property owners to respond to threats and to improve the health of their land.
