Join local ecologist Dr Anne Kerle for a free walk/talk and spotlight around the Neville area on Saturday May 6th from 1.30pm
Programme:
- Meet at Neville Hall at 1.30pm (Introduction and Discussion)
- Then go out for a walk to look for some habitat elements that are present or absent in the landscape – challenge participants to look for these elements remembering that a species habitat requires the 3 elements of food, shelter and a place to breed and that these may not always be in the same place.
- Do some late afternoon bird watching
- Dinner & Talk at the Pub (TBC)
- Followed by some Spotlighting
- What we have lost in this area – across all faunal groups
- Key elements of habitat and how this varies across animal species and groups
- Why it is critically important to ensure the survival of our fauna
- How do we know what is out there?
- How can we build up the key habitat elements?
Everyone welcome (all ages) There will moderate level of fitness required for the field walk and spotlighting. Sensible footwear, hat, sunscreen and jacket will be required.
